Collectability and gamification

The community has been asking about our gamification platform and benefits of collecting the Stag NFTs and Portal Passes, so we thought we’d give you an infosheet to refer to.

Recognise that any of this can change to benefit the project and will be shaped by community feedback. Some of these are concepts we’re exploring and not set in stone.

We believe that the collectability of our NFTs in relation to gamification outlined below is already more sophisticated than most in the space. We’ll continue developing it, too.

Gamification and the collection

  • We aim to create a fantasy world loved by millions of people. The Elderworld.
  • The collectability of our NFTs directly relates to that - the Stag Alliance collection is the first major one within that fantasy world and will always have OG status in that sense; as the fantasy world gains a large audience, the NFTs can gain demand and value because of their historic and cultural significance. Think Pokémon, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Marvel, etc. Their collectibles, especially the rare ones, are highly desired. That’s our goal.
  • The fantasy world will be created with a vibrant and diverse community; published literature and audio, visually stunning art, and our interactive gamified platform.
  • Users are challenged to grow their clan of deer and lead them to glory in the Elderworld.
  • The collectibles will have a variety of influences and benefits within the platform.

The collection

The collection contains these categories, their interaction and benefits in the platform are explained below:

  • Portal Passes.
    - Green
    - Magenta
  • The Chosen One - the main character of the lore of the Alliance.
  • Royals - 20 leaders of the 10 original clans of the Alliance.
  • Special Characters - Characters with special features and back stories.
  • Factions.
    - Citizen
    - Knight
    - Political
    - Maker
    - Conjurer
  • Each deer belongs to one of 10 clans.

The gamification

  • In the platform, users will be able to collect resources, craft items, level up, combat, and complete quests to establish their legacy in the Elderworld.
  • High-level / rare items can be minted as NFTs and traded outside of the platform. The higher the level of the player, the more likely you are to get better drops from combat and rarer items from crafting and magic - these could be highly desired by collectors.
  • The Chosen One will have unique access to features of the platform that others do not. The perk will not be overpowering.
  • Portal Passes will allow users to access restricted parts of the platform; each of these restricted parts will have a perk, e.g., a resource to collect with a higher yield than the standard area of the platform.
  • Royals and Special Characters will allow users to access restricted parts of the platform; each of these restricted parts will have a perk, e.g., a resource to collect with a higher yield than the standard area of the platform.
  • Those with Royals and Special Characters in their clans will get relevant bonuses to a higher degree than those with standard factions and Citizens.
  • Those with higher-level Discord roles will get unique features in the gamified platform, e.g., the ability to select special traits in their PFP avatar to show their collectability achievements.
  • Those who reach higher levels and achievements in the platform will have the ability to select special traits in their PFP avatar to show their achievements.
  • Those who reach higher levels and achievements in the platform will unlock more opportunities, such as quests to complete, resources to gather, items to craft and use, and stronger enemies to combat.
  • Knights in your clan will give a combat bonus in the platform, and the bonus will be stackable, but the stackability will be balanced so that someone can’t become overpowered in the gamification.
  • Makers in your clan will give a gathering and crafting bonus in the platform, and the bonus will be stackable, but the stackability will be balanced so that someone can’t become overpowered in the gamification.
  • Politicals will be needed to grow larger clans, the bonus of your collection will be limited to certain numbers without Politicals. You need Politicals to help lead your clan.
  • Politicals in your clan will give a bonus in the Society skill in the platform, and the bonus will be stackable, but the stackability will be balanced so that someone can’t become overpowered in the gamification.
    - We aim to connect the Society skill to quests and raids on Discord, Twitter and other socials. Those who don’t want to use the platform can still be recognised and rewarded for helping the Alliance thrive.
  • Conjurers will give a bonus in magic in the platform. Magic will be used in combat, crafting, and other forms. The bonus will be stackable, but the stackability will be balanced so that someone can’t become overpowered in the gamification.
  • Citizens can gain 1/3 of the bonus of another faction (Knight, Maker, Conjurer, Political), and you have the advantage of being able to select which bonus the Citizen acquires (they’re technically weaker, but they’re more flexible. That will create some interesting game-meta dynamics).
  • There will be quests requiring specific factions, e.g., a quest requiring a Knight or several Knights.
  • We aim to gamify things beyond the platform, e.g., allowing users to gain society levels and XP by Tweet raiding, and being a valuable community member in Discord.
  • We will be creating a voting and governance system so NFT holders can vote on developments in the project. You will need an NFT to vote. The more NFTs you have, the more weighting for your votes.
  • We’re looking into trait-specific benefits, e.g., if your maker has an enchanted scythe your maker gives a better gathering bonus than a non-enchanted scythe. This is an intricate mathematical process and won’t be amongst the first features we release.
  • We’re looking at a range of clan-specific benefits, such as:
    - An item or weapon that can be collected only by someone who holds an NFT of that clan, and the more of that clan you hold, the more the weapon can be upgraded
    - PFP / avatar customisation choices unlocked by different clans you hold
    - Special bonuses relating to the personality of that clan
  • We will continue developing the playability and gamification of the NFTs. Stag and Portal NFTs will always gain the most significant benefits due to being the earliest collectors.
